KW Comic Con is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all attendees, staff, volunteers, and exhibitors. This Props & Weapons Policy outlines the rules for bringing, displaying, or using props and weapons at the event.
All attendees must comply with this policy to participate in the convention.
Props and replica weapons are allowed only if they are safe and non-functional.
all props are subject to inspection at the entrance.
Any item deemed unsafe by KW Comic Con staff will be refused entry or confiscated.
Compliance with staff instructions regarding props and weapons is mandatory at all times.
The following items are strictly prohibited:
Real firearms, ammunition, or explosives
Functional swords, knives, daggers, or other bladed weapons
Projectile weapons, including bows, crossbows, and slingshots
Cane swords, nunchucks, throwing stars, or other disguised weapons
Items illegal under Canadian law
Any item deemed unsafe or inappropriate by KW Comic Con staff
Safe replicas, toy weapons, or cosplay props are allowed if peace-bonded, tagged, or otherwise secured as required by staff.
Props must be non-functional and constructed from safe materials (foam, plastic, rubber, etc.).
Realistic firearms or swords used as props must have visible safety indicators, such as orange tips.
Props may not be brandished, swung, or used aggressively on the convention floor.
Props must be carried or displayed safely and responsibly.
Staff may request props to be stored or secured if they obstruct aisles, emergency exits, or violate safety rules.
Demonstrations, mock battles, or any unsafe use of props are prohibited.
Props that cannot be safely handled will be confiscated until the end of the event.
KW Comic Con staff have the final authority to classify props as prohibited, inadmissible, or admissible.
Violations may result in:
Immediate removal from the convention floor
Confiscation of the prop
Ejection from the event without refund
Attendees who refuse to comply may be banned from future events.
