To qualify for a Media/Press Badge, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:
Be an active journalist, reporter, photographer, videographer, or media professional.
Represent a recognized media outlet, including:
Newspapers, magazines, or online publications
Television or radio stations
Verified digital media channels (YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, podcasts)
Blogs with consistent, event-related coverage
Have recent, relevant coverage of pop culture, conventions, or entertainment events.
The following are not eligible for press credentials:
Fan pages without journalistic activity
Personal social media accounts with no coverage history
Cosplay pages or influencer accounts whose primary function is not reporting
Individuals requesting access for commercial sales or business promotion
Approval is at the discretion of KW Comic Con staff.
All media representatives must submit a Press Application Form prior to the published deadline.
Applications must include:
Full legal name
Outlet name and website
Links to recent published work
Planned coverage for KW Comic Con
Additional verification may be required, including:
Assignment letters
Outlet contact information
Proof of publication history
Incomplete applications will not be approved.
Approved applicants will receive confirmation via email along with event-day check-in instructions.
Press badges must be collected in person at the registration desk with government-issued photo ID.
Media/Press Badges provide:
Access to the show floor
Access to panels (space permitting)
Designated media areas when applicable
Press badges do NOT grant:
Early access
VIP/priority seating
Backstage or green-room access
Guaranteed interviews with guests
Any additional access requires explicit approval from KW Comic Con staff.
Photography and filming are permitted in most public areas unless otherwise posted.
The following restrictions apply:
No filming of screened footage, exclusive content, or behind-the-scenes presentations.
No flash photography at panels unless permitted by staff.
Guest tables may have no-photo rules set by the guest or their management.
Always ask permission before photographing or filming:
Guests
Artists and exhibitors
Cosplayers
Minors
Violation of filming restrictions may result in badge revocation.
Interviews with guests, exhibitors, or staff must be scheduled in advance.
Walk-up or unapproved interviews at guest tables are strictly prohibited.
Approved interviews may only take place in designated media areas.
Guests retain full control over:
Content they allow to be discussed
Time limits
Photo/video permissions
KW Comic Con cannot guarantee the availability of any guest for media requests.
Press badge holders are expected to:
Provide fair and accurate coverage of KW Comic Con.
Produce and publish content within a reasonable timeframe.
Maintain professionalism when interacting with attendees, guests, staff, and exhibitors.
Follow all event rules, venue policies, and the Code of Conduct & Anti-Harassment Policy.
Failure to produce coverage may affect approval for future events.
Media/Press Badges may be revoked for:
Harassment or disrespect toward attendees, guests, or staff
Unauthorized access to restricted areas
Interfering with event operations, line management, or guest tables
Selling or attempting to sell content created at the event
Misrepresenting affiliation with a media outlet
Using press credentials to skip lines or gain perks not provided
Badge revocation may result in removal from the event without refund.
Use of the KW Comic Con name, FandomForge Collective name, logos, or branding must comply with the event’s branding and licensing rules.
Logos may not be edited, distorted, or used in commercial products.
Media outlets may use approved logos only for coverage and reporting purposes.
All other uses require written permission.
